La Boca is a painting of the start of the Traful River in Argentina and represents “new beginnings.” The Traful River is home to land-locked Atlantic Salmon and Red Stag Deer. When visiting this location, you can imagine the salmon coming out of the lake through La Boca to spawn further downstream, a journey’s beginning.
During my visit to the Traful River, I was encompassed by the vibrant energy of the Red Stag Deer. Their powerful roars, echoing for miles throughout the basin, were a testament to their dominance and their quest for does. This energy, mirroring the landscape, is captured in the painting, with the male stag watching the doe in the distance, symbolizing nature’s desire to create new beginnings.
La Boca is inspired by Maxfield Parrish and Albert Bierstadt. It exagerates colour, light and space transforming a landscape into a portal transporting the viewer into an enigmatic realm.
